STEPHEN MINISTRY
The Stephen Ministry is a lay ministry for those who are called to be caregivers. A Stephen Minister is a lay person who has received 50 hours of training in how to provide Christian love and support for those going through difficult times. A Stephen Minister is not a professional therapist or a casual visitor. A Stephen Minister is trained to listen, support and encourage those individuals who are experiencing loneliness, grief, unemployment, anxiety or depression, childbirth, hospitalization, separation and divorce, terminal illness, relocation issues, retirement changes, being shut-in, stress, spiritual crisis, care giving issues, or single parenthood. They are assigned to a care receiver by the Stephen Ministry Leadership Team and commit to meet on a weekly basis with their care receiver.
United Methodist Women The United Methodist Women's purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the Church. Currently there are five circle groups that meet:
The Balcony Sisters meet on the 1st Monday of the month at 6:30 pm The Agape Circle meets on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm The Samaritan Circle meets on the 1st Thursday of the month at 1:00 pm The Bible Prayer Circle meets on the 2nd Monday of the month at 10:00 am The King's Daughters Group meets on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 1:00 pm at the Peninsula Country Club. (only during the school year) UNITED METHODIST MEN The United Methodist Men provide a dedicated ministry for building men spiritually and effective discipleship. They meet the second Sunday of every month at 7:00 am on the church Fellowship Hall. for more information:
